All the very best for your new adventures. Maybe now you will be both - a fairy and a dentist in a different avatar. Meanwhile enjoy the break as you brew/cook up something interesting for all of us to look forward to.
I read this and I just want to remind you and reinforce the energy that you will find whatever you are looking out to in this next phase of your life.
Also, I have been following you for the longest time now. I think I started reading your posts at Malabar Tea Room 2017 or 2018 onwards and I have been a regular.
There are quite a bunch of recipes I tried too - Especially the Broccoli, Cheese, Almond Toasted Salad and the Mutton Stew (Forgot to send the images when we had a chat on Insta DM, will search and send them to you). Your recipes make me want to cook, mainly because you make it look so easy and effortless and also because they come together very quickly.
And the images that you click, they have this rustic-rooted country-life meets modern-quest-of-rawness vibe to them and I absolutely love them.
So, yes, you are amazing at what you do and the way you capture and describe food is just so visual that I can almost imagine it coming to life. So I hope you all the best in whatever you choose to foray in. Just wanted to say this to you and put this out there.
Hi Prerna! The broccoli cheese one is one of my all-time favourites! I'm so happy to be a part of your life through the recipes :) I always that's such a wonderful gift -- there's a little part of mum's and my kitchens in other people's homes as well! :)
It was so bittersweet to read the announcement yesterday. Goya was one of my first proper forays into realizing that you can write about food in more ways than just putting out a recipe.
I love The Tea and the coziness you bring into my inbox. I don't always comment but I always, always read.
Can't wait to look at more photos and subscribe to your new adventures, wherever they may be.
Lately, I've been reading a Chef's biography, watching Exploding kittens (not as gruesome as it sounds) and just cooking a whole lot more.
Hi Reyana, I'm so happy to hear that. That was Lucky Peach for me :) And yay, thank you for reading The Tea. OMG been wondering about Exploding Kittens. The game confuses the heck out of me, but was curious about the show.
It has been a delight to read through your own posts here on The Tea, comforting to see familiar recipes on Malabar Tea Room and inspiring to read about cuisines from other parts of India. Savour the break and know that we'll be here to "subscribe" to whatever new journey you embark upon :)
I've been following the Malabar Tea Room for over a decade- before I had a smartphone or Instagram- and I've been hooked to the warmth of your writing, the beautiful images, and the clear, completely reliable recipes. Reading what you write always felt like hearing from a friend.
Goya was such a unique idea, and has grown so impressively, and I felt such vicarious pride (refer to above point of feeling like you're my friend).
It's so so exciting and inspiring that you're choosing a new beginning. I hope you will be kind to yourself through any uncertainty and less-than-perfect-ness, and I'm sure you will be excellent at whatever you choose to do.
Here's wishing you only the best.
Ps- I'm also really looking forward to your Japan pictures and thoughts!
Hello! Wow, you've been here since the very beginning then :) Thank you for sticking around! I'm swinging wildly between excitement and terror at the uncertainty of it all :) Your comment made me smile. I am definitely trying to be gentle with myself through the uncertainty. A big hug to you!

I love that! That's the energy I want to carry froward <3 And thank you :)
